In collaboration with Zenger Agency, Latent Memories created three diverse projects for the Solidarity Stage, aiming to provide comfort and strength after the devastating February 6th earthquake.

Woven from shared experiences and stories of resilience, these projects go beyond art, serving as a therapeutic bridge for healing. Through creativity, we strive to unite the community, fostering recovery and collective strength. Our work stands as a testament to shared commitment and a beacon of hope for a stronger future.

Our system enriches musical interpretation by analyzing lyrics, melodies, and sound elements to create dynamic visuals. These visuals sync with the music, enhancing performances and deepening the connection between artists and audiences. By blending sound, visuals, and storytelling, our technology redefines music appreciation and opens new doors for creative expression.

POETRY BODY

This work beautifully blends art forms, combining an artificial intelligence model with the elegant patterns of Storyteller and Writer Arbil Çelen Yuca, alongside the choreography of İlke Kodal, a principal dancer from the Istanbul State Opera and Ballet. The mesmerizing performance of the Antakya Civilizations Choir further adds to the enchantment. Through this collaboration, we aimed to explore how rhythm, embodied in a single entity, can resonate with communities when viewed through the lens of artificial intelligence. This fusion of music, art, and technology creates a captivating entity we call the “Poetry Body.”

BEAUTIFUL DAYS

In our collaborative work, which culminates in the grand finale with the Antakya Civilizations Choir, we sought to capture the genuine essence of the night. Titled “Beautiful Days,” our creation aims to evoke a sense of hope amidst the days of mourning. To achieve this, we embarked on a transformative journey with Edip Akbayram’s rendition of Nazım Hikmet Ran’s words.

Through the use of a sound analysis system developed by Latent Memories, we meticulously dissected the song, conducting comprehensive sound and concept analyses. This system effectively gauges the emotions evoked by the song, employing various customized artificial intelligence models. We seamlessly integrated these analyses with the enchanting drawings of Storyteller and Writer Arbil Çelen Yuca, and enriched them further with the insightful texts of Ali Aşkın Elibol and Sezgi Olgaç. The result is a harmonious synthesis that encapsulates the emotional depths of the composition.

MOURNING

In honor of our departed loved ones, we have meticulously crafted a work of art. Drawing inspiration from Seda Dokumacı’s poignant narrative, which intricately weaves the stories of individual personas, we trained our artificial intelligence model to capture the essence of their experiences, focusing on aesthetics and emotional transitions. This resulting piece, aptly named “Mourning,” invites viewers to embark on a vertical screen journey.

“Mourning” seamlessly combines Seda Dokumacı’s evocative lines with the profound texts of Ali Aşkın Elibol and Sezgi Olgaç, shedding light on how a machine interprets the unique mourning experiences of each persona. By intertwining the machine learning model, Seda Dokumacı’s artistic vision, the sensitivity of the copywriters, and the interpretive abilities of our artificial intelligence, this work offers an emotionally resonant experience for the audience.

As a tribute to those we lost in the wake of the earthquake disasters, “Mourning” endeavors to provide solace amidst the harshest realities of human existence. It offers a glimpse into how individuals interpret and experience grief, offering a profound opportunity for understanding and connection.
